In my classes, I bring awareness to the subtleties of the human body.

Yoga is a dynamic and evolving practice with an opportunity to cultivate a more intimate relationship with our complex, inner world. I combine my experience as a nutritionist with my yoga teachings.

I encourage my students to ignite their innate healing capacity and guide them to nourish themselves on a deeper level. My classes are designed to create a space that allows my students to challenge themselves with curiosity and compassion.

An online two-part yoga series focusing on supporting gut health

PART 1

The Rest & Digest workshop is intended to support you on your journey to digestive ease by nurturing the resilience of your second brain (your gut). Part one of the workshop will involve an exploration on how to cultivate a more intimate relationship with yourself by opening up a dialogue with your inner ecosystem. The anatomy and physiology of the gut will be discussed along with the mental, emotional, and energetic factors of digestion. The session will conclude with an integration of yoga asanas that support digestion while mapping out the gut terrain.

PART 2

Part two of the Rest & Digest workshop will further the exploration of the digestive system through the gut-brain connection. The vagus nerve and its role in digestion will be discussed, as well as how to shift the mindset of gut dis-ease into one of opportunity and nourishment. You will be introduced to some healing foods that can support the gut-brain connection, as well as yoga asanas that are focused on nourishing this connection as part of a holistic approach to gut wellness.

“Alana is very knowledgeable. It’s evident in her teaching that she understands the body as well as yoga. There aren’t many yoga teachers who can offer this. I highly recommend her.”
